DEUTSCHE TELEKOM SIGNS ACC AS ‘SWITCHLESS RESELLER’

By CBR Staff Writer

Deutsche Telekom AG has taken its first tentative steps to opening its telecoms infrastructure in Germany, and has signed up ACC Telecom Ltd, the UK-based subsidiary of ACC Corp, a Rochester, New York telecoms operator, as the first switchless reseller of its voice services. ACC Telecom will buy capacity from Deutsche Telekom as part of its Dial and Benefit scheme that offers discounts of up to 35% to major users. ACC will be the first customer under the scheme able to resell telecom capacity to its own customers. It estimates that it may charge up to 20% discount than the standard price rates.
