By CBR Staff Writer

High profile internet security specialist Check Point Software Technologies Ltd has announced that Deutsche Telekom AG will use its Firewall-1 software for its managed internet service. The German has also agreed to resell the software to its corporate customers that use it only as an internet service provider. Deutsche Telekom will set up and install the software in customers’ internet networks, and will also manage corporate network security from a central site using Check Point’s built in OPSEC remote management software. Deutsche will install Check Point’s secure remote access 3.0 software, and Virtual Private Network security package. Ramat-Gan, Israel-based, Check Point claims to outsell its nearest firewall competitor Cisco Systems Inc by 400%, and has bundling deals with 3Com and IBM Corp, and reseller agreements with a number of internet service providers and telecommunications companies, including AT&T Corp, UUNet Technologies Inc, MCI Corp and Pacific Bell Corp.
