DESIGN OF THE BASIC AX CHIP WITH BIOS IS COMPLETE

Most of the biggest Japanese microcomputer manufacturers are still sitting on the fence over the AX standard, which is derived from the spec of the IBM Personal AT, but Sanyo Electric, Kyocera Corp, Mitsubishi Electric and Alps Electric are enthusiastic backers: design of the basic AX chip with BIOS and support functions is complete and availability to would-be manufacturers will start soon.
