What a way to describe the IBM Personal Computer – and it isn’t made of plastic! Office designers are so mortified at seeing, as they see it, all their good work ruined by the march of technology that there is flourishing business being done in corporate America beautify-ing micros with woodgrain veneers and so forth – but did Jeffrey Sparks of Casica Corp in Durham, North Carolina have to describe IBM’s pride and joy in a lawyers office to the Daily Telegraph as an ugly piece of putty-coloured plastic sitting on a $5,000 desk?
