Descartes to power Delta Cargo’s air freight booking portal

The Descartes Systems Group, an on-demand software-as-a-service logistics services provider, has extended its relationship with Delta Cargo, a division of Delta Air Lines, to provide GF-X Exchange private label system underlying Delta Cargo's electronic air freight booking portal at the airline's company website.

By CBR Staff Writer

Delta Cargo’s company website is expected to offer full international route and product offerings in addition to Delta Cargo’s domestic freight booking service. Shippers may also book dangerous goods, human remains and pets through the portal.

According to Delta Cargo, the customers can use the private-label system to book cargo through the website and query their shipment needs. The system responds with details on available cargo capacity and rates. When a cargo reservation is made online through the Delta Cargo web site, an electronic confirmation is delivered to the customer.

Neel Shah, vice president of Delta Cargo, said: We have been a long-time customer of the GF-X Exchange. Extending our relationship with Descartes to include a private-label portal is a natural progression for Delta and a commitment of our brand and service to our customers.
