The Government Digital Service is losing another senior leader in its deputy CTO, Magnus Falk.

Falk’s departure would come shortly after chief Mike Bracken left the GDS in August, adding to the disruption caused.

Falk was appointed deputy CTO in August 2014, but is due to leave following the recruitment process for a director to lead the Common Technology Services programme, according to Computer Weekly.

Mike Bracken’s departure was followed by four other senior GDS leaders, resulting in questions being raised about its future. This latest departure will only add to the instability.

The GDS is now headed up by executive director Stephen Foreshew-Cain and Liam Maxwell, CTO.

Until a new director of the CTS is appointed, deputy director of government technology Andy Beale will be running it.

When the new director is appointed, they will report to Liam Maxwell.
