Canton, Massachusetts-based high-speed printer specialist Delphax Systems Inc has has paid an undisclosed sum for the large printing systems assets and business of the $20m-a-year Bull Printing Systems arm of Bull HN Information Systems Inc, boosting Delphax’s estimated 1992 revenues to $70m and making it a top four vendor in the high-speed page printer market alongside Xerox Corp, Siemens-Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG and IBM Corp – and IBM may not be there much longer. Delphax gets rights to the Series 4000 and 5000 page printers, presently sold only in North America, and plans immediately to start marketing them in Europe as well.
