At SAP AG’s Sapphire user conference last week, Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group’s ICS group announced the formation of a dedicated team to service SAP’s Supply Chain Optimization, Planning and Execution, or SCOPE, initiative, under which SAP is enhancing the whole supply chain process within its R/3 suite. Deloitte, a major SAP systems integrator, has appointed Kevin Seguin to lead the team, which will work closely with SAP to provide implementation and consultancy services to customers. Brian Johnson, Deloitte ICS commercial director says SAP is particularly aiming to extend the supply chain all the way through from the customer through the retailer to the manufacturer, using common SAP processes. This, he says, will have particular impact on the fast-moving consumer goods market, as well as other manufacturing businesses, process and chemical industries. Deloitte also launched its ValuePrint product at Sapphire, a combination of business case methodology, financial analysis and reporting tools to enable companies to define the scope of their requirements, in other words, which systems and processes need to be changed, and build the business case for implementing SAP by determining the costs and benefits of the implementation, providing report templates for presenting the case to management, and enabling tracking of the project throughout implementation. ValuePrint will be used by Deloitte ICS as part of its FastTrack implementation methodology.
