Dell wins services deal with UBS

Dell Computer Corp has continued its push into the services business by securing a four-year deal with Union Bank of Switzerland.

By CBR Staff Writer

Round Rock, Texas-based Dell is keen to build up deeper relationships with its large accounts by going beyond basic product supply and getting them to sign up to long-term deals where it provides services such as installation, solution architecting, and support.

Under the terms of the deal with UBS, Dell will replace existing PCs with 30,000 Dell desktops and notebooks in UBS’s Swiss branches and in other regions. Dell will provide what it calls managed deployment services, including installation and 24-hour local support. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
