DELL UNLIKELY TO COMPLETE AMD’S TOP TEN PC WINS

The Microprocessor Report notes that nine of the top ten PC companies have committed to using Advanced Micro Devices Inc processors in some way, shape or form but AMD still can’t make a profit. The last holdout, Dell Computer Corp, is unlikely to embrace the Intel cloner until AMD loses a certain outspoken founder or Dell freezes over. Intel’s aggressive Celeron plan forced AMD to cut prices, sending it into the red, the Report observes.
