Dell reorganises commercial business

Dell said the large enterprise segment will be led by Steve Schuckenbrock, who is currently president of the company’s global services division and chief information officer. The public sector division will be led Paul Bell, president of Dell Americas, while the small and medium business division will be led Steve Felice who is currently president of Dell Asia-Pacific and Japan.

Mike Cannon, who is president of the company’s global operations, will retire effective January 31, and Mark Jarvis, the company’s chief marketing officer will leave during the current fiscal quarter. Jeff Clarke will succeed Cannon and also assume the role of vice chairman of global operations. Erin Nelson, formerly vice president of marketing at Dell EMEA, will assume the role of chief marketing officer. Cannon and Jarvis will continue to serve the company as consultants.

Michael Dell, chairman and CEO at Dell, said: Our global consumer group has proved that an integrated business unit can move with greater agility to unleash innovation to respond to the changing needs of customers, and now our large enterprise, public, and SMB groups will be best positioned to do the same.

In November the company reported a 5% decline in net profit to $727m for the third quarter 2008, compared to $766m in the year-ago quarter, on revenue down 3% at $15.1 billion.
