In a move that builds on a support deal struck between the two in January, Round Rock, Texas-based Dell will include Waltham, Masachusetts-based Novell’s SLES 9 on its single- and dual-processor PowerEdge servers.

Dell had previously been a one-Linux company, preferring to deal with rival Linux vendor Red Hat Inc, but will now serve as a single point of contact for customer support needs, while Dell Services will assist customers with SLES deployments.

Dell PowerEdge 1850, 2800 and 2850 servers will be available with SLES 9 worldwide in the fourth quarter.
