Initially, Dell will make desktops in its Chennai facility for the domestic market, Dell VP Dick Hunter told The Times of India. Desktops account for about 70% of the company’s revenues, Hunter reportedly said, and will manufacture other products in India in due course.

Hunter also said Dell had a 45% share of India’s corporate PC market.

Round Rock, Texas-based Dell, the world’s largest PC maker, currently has about 13,000 workers in India, and will boost that to 20,000 during the next couple of years, according to reports.
