Following in the vapor trail of Apple’s AirPort, Dell Computer Corp has released wireless networking products that allow up to 15 PCs to log into a local area network. As we previously reported, Dell is using technology acquired when it bought Aironet Wireless Communications Inc in November.

The technology conforms to the IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN standard, allowing data to be transmitted at speeds of up to 11Mbs per second at distances of up to 150 feet. Dell is offering the 4800LT network interface card for Inspiron laptops priced at $139, or a PCI card for Dimension desktops at $179.
