DELL CHIEF SAYS PC DEMAND IS “VERY GOOD”

Overall personal computer demands continues to be very good, Dell Computer Corp chairman and chief executive Michael Dell told the Goldman Sachs Technology Conference. He said that he is comfortable with current industry forecasts of 15% to 20% unit growth worldwide over the next few years. He also said that the company is looking at entering the workstation business, although he pointed out that some of Dell’s higher end personal computers using Intel Corp’s Pentium Pro processors can almost be classified as workstations.
