Dell adds PayPal option

On the heels of reporting a 28% profit drop, Dell Inc has now said consumers would have one more way to buy its computing products online.

By CBR Staff Writer

Dell hopes to lure customers to its online retail site by now accepting payments from US customers via PayPal, the online payment system owned by eBay Inc.

Round Rock, Texas-based Dell noted that PayPal had more than 86.6 million accounts, and that it was adding PayPal ahead of Black Friday, the traditional kick-off of the holiday season.

Given the popularity of PayPal, we expect the new payment option to be a hit with current customers and serve as a tool to attract new shoppers to Dell.com, said Tom West, director of Dell home and small business marketing, in a statement.
