Dell Services has introduced Microsoft Dynamics for Manufacturing, a new application that will help manufacturers with all aspects of a Microsoft Dynamics implementation.

The new new application is designed for manufacturers who don’t have complete visibility of their global supply chain, are challenged with optimising their business systems and are looking to increase efficiency and simplicity through the entire manufacturing process.

Microsoft Dynamics AX will increase productivity and provide easy access to valuable information throughout an organisation.

The new application features a suite of services including, multiple software licensing options for Microsoft Dynamics, deployment options including on-premise and cloud based applications and custom application development.

It also features infrastructure assessment, design and support services, application configuration and implementation, business process re-engineering, organisational change management, managed services and ongoing support.

Dell’s Microsoft Dynamics for Manufacturing application focuses on manufacturing simplification and lean transformation by re-engineering processes from start to finish based on lean principles and simplified procedures.

The application will provide manufacturers with guidance and counsel on how to leverage the Microsoft Dynamics product.

It also shows manufacturers how to use Microsoft Dynamics, helping them to make informed decisions as well as global alignment and transformation.

With Microsoft Dynamics AX, Dell has re-architected its manufacturing process to decrease its IT cost of goods by 40% by the end of 2012 and eliminate the need for almost 2,000 servers and 70 applications.

In addition, Dell has reduced a 75% factory IT footprint, increased alignment with outsourced manufacturing network, recovered factory throughput efficiency within approximately two quarters, offered 6-month payback on Microsoft Dynamics AX investment and reduced up to 50% in server downtime.
