Dell has reported total revenue of $15.7bn for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011, an increase of 5% compared to $15bn for the same period last year, and a marginal increase of 2% sequentially.

The company posted an operating income of $1.14bn, an increase of 124% compared to $510m for the same period a year ago.

For the quarter ended 28 January 2011, the company posted a net income of $927m, up 177% compared to $334m of the same period last year.

For the FY11, the company reported total revenue of $61.5bn, an increase of 16% compared to $53bn for the fiscal year 2009.

The operating income increased to $3.43bn from $2.17bn and net income increased by 84% to $2.63bn from $1.4bn in FY10.

Dell chairman and CEO Michael Dell said the company remains focused on developing and acquiring new technologies and capabilities.

"Customers are now seeing Dell in a fresh light, and we’re heading into the new year with strength and optimism," Dell said.

For its fiscal year 2012, the company expects revenue to grow by 5 to 9%.
