As part of its efforts to mitigate the effects of rising costs for raw products, commodities and energy, Del Monte has broadened its portfolio of Ariba systems to include Ariba Contract Management and Ariba Procure-to-Pay, which it will leverage to drive efficiency across the entire procurement process and ensure that savings negotiated reach the bottom line, said Ariba.

To ensure that savings identified through sourcing actually reach the bottom line, Ariba Procure-To-Pay is expected to combine the functionality of Ariba Buyer, Ariba Invoice, Ariba Settlement and Ariba Analysis in a single, integrated system.

With buy and sell-side capabilities, Ariba Contract Management enables companies to collaboratively create and manage contracts across categories and functions, including sales, finance, marketing, real estate, legal, procurement and IT and drive compliance with agreements on an enterprise-wide basis, said Ariba.

Kevin Costello, president of Ariba, said: As uncertainty continues to dominate global markets, now more than ever is the time for spend management. Del Monte is a clear example of how with the right solutions and processes in place, companies can reduce costs, minimize risk and increase competitive advantage.
