DEC UNINTERESTED IN DISCUSSING BEING ACQUIRED BY AT&T

By CBR Staff Writer

DEC president Ken Olsen told journalists after the annual meeting on Thursday that while AT&T Co had asked for a couple of meetings with the Maynard minimaker in the past, DEC had made it clear that it was uninterested in discussing being acquired by AT&T (or anyone else, no doubt) and that AT&T had never made any takeovertures to DEC; did Olsen think AT&T would like to buy DEC? I suppose I’d like to think that we are desirable he said; DEC also said that payment of its first dividend is back off the agenda again – the company would prefer to go on investing cash in the business and increase value that way.
