DEC has also signed a joint marketing agreement with BellSouth International under which the commercial arm of the Atlanta phone company will collaborate with the Maynard minimaker on design and implementation of intelligent networks for the telecommunications industry worldwide. Features conceived for the VAX-controlled networks include support of directory and toll-free services, emergency services, and virtual networkconfigurations. The agreement is similar to the ones announced between IBM and L M Ericsson Telefon, Siemens AG, and Bell Atlantic last autumn (CI Nos 760, 794).
