DEC SIGNS ANDATACO TO PUT LIKEN MAC EMULATOR UP ON ALPHA AXP BOXES

By CBR Staff Writer

Now that Andataco Inc, San Diego has wrapped up acquisition of Liken developer Xcelerated Systems Inc, Digital Equipment Corp has gone to Andataco and asked it to create a version of the Liken software, which emulates the Macintosh environment under Unix for its Alpha AXP RISC machines. DEC sees the move as a short cut to expanding the applications base for its version of Unix. The new Liken for AXP should be ready by the second quarter of 1994, and it is to cost $300 for a single-user fixed licence.
