DEC SEEKS TO WIN HEARTS AND MINDS FOR NT

Digital Equipment Corp as predicted (CI No. 2,988) yesterday pulled out all the stops on behalf of Microsoft Corp’s Windows NT, adding desktop and notebook computers optimized for NT, including a Pentium Pro desktop at from $2,300. The HiNote Pentium notebook with Windows NT 4.0 Workstation will be $5,000. ClientWorks 2.3 is the latest version of DEC’s client-management software and is included with all its desktops, notebooks and personal workstations, and it features new system management capabilities for reporting asset management information to DEC’s ServerWorks network administration and server software. ServerWorks is now optimized for NT Workstation.
