DEC SECOND QUARTER LIKELY TO BE OFF 20%

Not quite so optimistic is the outlook for DEC, which says that it is comfortable with analysts’ forecasts of $1.90 to $2 a share for its fiscal second quarter to the end of this month, compared with $2.48 a share this time last year. The company added that European business remains strong. Analysts are going for $9 a share for the full year, down from $9.90 last year, with profits picking up again in fiscal 1990 to reach $10.75.
