DEC PROTEST OVER AIR FORCE MULTI-USER ACQUISITION TURNED DOWN

Posix rules OK! The US General Services Adminsitration Board of Contract Appeals has found for the Air Force and against DEC in the protest brought by the latter and later joined by Wang Laboratories over the Air Force Multi-User System Acquisition for some 20,000 small multi-user systems: the Air Force had specified the Posix port-able Unix, and DEC protested that this gave AT&T an unfair advantage; the Air Force was only ordered to eliminate any bias from the use of an AT&T test suite, and it now says bids have to be in within a month.
