DEC NUMBER TWO AFTER IBM

DEC is now clearly number two in the US computer industry hierarchy after IBM: in the most recent quarter, while DEC’s turnover rose 17% to $2,820, Unisys’ declined 2% to $2,370m, and the latter will have to make more of those acquisitions it has been talking about if it is to regain the second spot; in the worldwide rankings, DEC occupies third place behind Fujitsu.
