DEC MACHINES WITH THE NEW 3.8 MIPS CMOS PROCESSOR TO APPEAR SOON

By CBR Staff Writer

Look for DEC to beef up the original MicroVAX 3500 and 3600 models with the new 3.8 MIPS CMOS processor that is used in the VAX 6300s in the not-too-distant future: the current models use the chip in the superseded 6200s, and Electronic News looks for the machines to appear as the 3550 and 3650 and to sell for from $90,000 and $200,000, and may also be the first MicroVAXes to use the 9 RA90 disk drives.
