Look for DEC to beef up the original MicroVAX 3500 and 3600 models with the new 3.8 MIPS CMOS processor that is used in the VAX 6300s in the not-too-distant future: the current models use the chip in the superseded 6200s, and Electronic News looks for the machines to appear as the 3550 and 3650 and to sell for from $90,000 and $200,000, and may also be the first MicroVAXes to use the 9 RA90 disk drives.
