Digital Equipment Corp has gone to Micro Focus Plc (where else?) for Cobol for its OSF/1 Unix on the Alpha RISC machines: it is taking the compiler, the Newbury, Berkshire company’s Micro Focus Toolbox for Unix development environment, OSX for Unix cross-system application portability aid and Dialog System for Unix user interface construction and execution tool; Micro Focus Cobol 3.1 for Unix on OSF/1 AXP starts at $1,250 for individual concurrent use licences.
