DEC INSIDER SUGGESTS SAMSUNG-FOUNTAIN CONNECTION

By CBR Staff Writer

A Deep Throat at Digital Equipment Corp claims the mysterious Fountain Technologies, supposed parent of Edison, New Jersey- based Enorex Microsystems Inc is controlled by none other than Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, an Alpha second source supplier. The Digital insider, who has no direct connection with the company’s relationship with Enorex, the start-up peddling cheap Digital workstations (CI No 3,045), says DECies were just as fascinated with the Fountain-Enorex story as the rest of us. They did some sleuthing and came up with the connection. They weren’t able to ferret out exactly how the Samsung-Fountain relationship might be structured, but guess it’s through a holding company arrangement. The inside theory is that the nature of the relationship is being shielded from public knowledge by the South Korean government, which might also own a piece of the action as a minority partner.
