DEC INCREASES ITS STAKE IN CONSILIUM TO 5.8%

DEC is clearly ready to follow IBM in investing in software companies around the world, and following its $5m investment for 5% of Cegid Informatique SA in France (CI No 1,455), it has invested $1m in Consilium Inc, Mountain View, California, taking its stake to 5.8%, and agreed to invest $3m more to cement the March 1989 pact under which the company is developing integrated factory floor management software for the VAX for launch by year-end.
