DEC HOLDS FIRE SALE OF OLD PERSONAL COMPUTERS IN US

By CBR Staff Writer

Anyone interested in PDP-11 computing power on the cheap may want to ask DEC what prices its offering over here, because in the US, the Maynard minimaker is holding a fire sale of old personal computers, with the J-11-based Professional 350 at just $325, which Electronic News works out to be a 92% discount on the last list price of $4,106. Less interesting is the Rainbow 100B MS DOS machine, which is not fully IBM-compatible; that one is on offer at $650 against $2,817 list. The offers run to March 24.
