Digital Equipment Corporation, bent on migrating its VMS base over to Microsoft Corp’s Windows NT, has wheeled out more tools to make the move less of a culture shock. The products do performance monitoring and transaction processing. OpenVMS Management Tools Version 2.0 can monitor a VMS system from the Windows NT console. To distribute transactions between the two, you can use Digital Application Generator 3.0 together with the Reliable Transaction Router 3.0 and ACMSxp, Digital’s transaction processing monitor. To bring the two operating systems closer together, you can buy Enterprise Integration Server for OpenVMS and Enterprise Integration Client for Microsoft Windows. There is also a new All-in-1 to Microsoft Exchange mail conversion utility.
