It said that people inside the company were indicating between 7,500 and 8,800 more employees would be laid off worldwide, with a significant proportion of those cuts in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. DEC laid off 5,300 employees during its fiscal first quarter to September 26. DEC, which currently employs 108,500 people worldwide, told shareholders this month it would increase lay-offs and cut costs. Up to 20,000 could go next year.
