DEC UK has extended its video terminal and printers range with the addition of five new products. The first of these is the VT420 terminal, which DEC claims is particularly suited to office applications such as word processing, transaction processing, or data management. It has dual sessioning, either as flip-screen or split-screen viewing, a choice of data line displays, and an off-screen memory that stores up to six 24-line pages for off-screen data updating. DEC has also added two new terminals to its VT330/340 series. The VT330+ is a two plane monochrome text and graphics terminal with a 14 flat cathode ray tube and paper white phospher screen. The VT340+ is a four plane 16 colour terminal with the same features as the the VT330+ plus a dual session capability with session switch key, single and dual wire multiple session capabilities, and both horizontal and vertical split screen viewing. The new LA70 personal printer is a nine wire-head matrix printer for use with workstations and personal computers. The entry-level machine is targeted at low level users and offers 200chps draft mode, built in serial and parallel interfaces, and support for both DEC and industry standard personal computer protocols. Finally, the DECprint Utility for PostScript to Sixel printing is a software utility that runs under VMS and enables VAX computers to output files in PostScript format to DEC printers. It supports matrix, colour ink-jet and desktop laser printers. The VT420 terminal costs UKP535, UKP509 if bought with a system, the LA70 is UKP382 or UKP361 with a system.
