Users rule OK: DEC has now cut the software price differential between VAX upgrades and says that it will now give credit for a previous licence. According to Computer Systems News, DEC has given in to customer pressure after the Digital Dealers Association advised users of the disparity, saying that DEC was charging in full for a new licence when customers bought upgrade boards from resellers, but offering a credit when the upgrade was performed by the company itself. The new pricing regime is scheduled to come into force in the US next month.
