Funny, that: Digital Equipment Corp and Ingres Corp were terribly upbeat in their announcement of their divorce settlement, with Ingres making chirpy noises implying that it expected to upgrade all the users of the Ingres-based Ultrix/SQL to the Ingres 6.0 release (CI No 1,992) but now DEC has stepped out with the Other Woman, which is evidently Oracle Corp: the companies said Oracle will provide special limited-time pricing for the Oracle relational database management system, application development tools and consulting services to provide a smooth upgrade from Ultrix/SQL; the special prices, to be in effect until February 1993, depend on the system purchased, as well as consulting, product and services options taken.
