DEC and Emulex Corp of Costa Mesa, California have finally settled all their differences – dating back to DEC’s suit in 1985 – in an agreement that licenses Emulex to make devices that use Digital’s SBI, CMI, Unibus and Q-bus interconnection and control technology in return for payment for that right; DEC drops its patent infringement lawsuits; and the two will in future confer to attempt to resolve potential patent infringement issues prior to instigating legal action.
