DEC A NO-SHOW AT OPEN SYSTEMS SHOW

By CBR Staff Writer

Digital Equipment Corp has decided to withdraw from exhibiting at the London Open Systems Show the first week in November, saying that it is worried about lack of support for the event. Others that are not exhibiting include Sun Microsystems Inc, Hewlett-Packard Co and the Santa Cruz Operation Inc, although these companies will be involved in a series of vendor-led seminars at the event. DEC had the prime position on the Show floor, a spot which has now been handed down to IBM UK Ltd, which is in no position to get sniffy about donning other people’s cast-offs. DEC says that it will be attending the Open Forum show in Utrecht, Netherlands, set for later in November.
