Torrance, California-based Davidson & Associates Inc acquired Chaos Studios, a Costa Mesa, California entertainment software developer, in a stock swap valued at $6.75m; Davidson said Chaos will continue to operate independently, retaining current staff and operations; Chaos’ first products as part of Davidson will be a series of multimedia entertainment titles, the first of which will be available by Christmas: Davidson also reached an agreement in principle to acquire Learningways Inc, an educational software developer in Cambridge, Massachusetts; terms were not disclosed, but Learningways will continue to operate independently, retaining its current staff; final documents and state approval should be completed in the next two months.
