Northern Telecom Ltd says the Dataserv Inc subsidiary of BellSouth Corp is to be the first network products and services group to offer the Canadian’s new Meridian Data Networking System, a network management system designed to accommodate multiple network protocols and integrated speech and data transmission in a fault-tolerant architecture: Meridian DNS makes available to users throughout the network the primary functional elements of access, transport and application services and has at its heart an integrated, real-time network management system that enables the network manager to monitor and control network activities down to the session level, says Northern.
