DATAMIRROR TAKES 40% OF JAVA DB COMPANY

By CBR Staff Writer

DataMirror Corp, the Canadian mid-range systems data replication specialist, has made its second investment in as many weeks, exercising rights to buy 40% of DataBahn Inc which markets an embedded Java database that runs in 300Kb. In March DataMirror paid DataBahn to include its Transformation Server replication technology in the database. It says DB/2, Sybase, Oracle and SQL Server databases on AS/400, Unix and NT can replicate data to DataBahn databases. By the end of the year, supported platforms will include DB/2 MVS. Bi-directional support – from DataBahn to the third party databases – is being added. DataBahn betas are out at 10 sites.
