Wimbledon, SW19-based data communications supplier Dataflex Design Ltd has launched the Hexacom range ofV32 9,600bps modems, which it claims are around 25% cheaper thanrival products in the UK market. There are three models in therange: Desktop Hexacom, a stand-alone unit that links up to a standard RS-232 serial connector; PC Hexacom and PC Hexacom Professional, which are internal AT bus cards, with the latterproviding an IBM-type synchronous controller formicro-to-mainframe as well as asynchronous communications. All three modems support the Consultative Committee of Telegraphy and Telephony’s V22, V22bis, V23 and V21 protocols, and both dial-up and permanent leased-line connections are possible; the Hayes AT extended command set is supported. Available now, all models in the Hexacom range are supplied with the TransSend DataLink communications software package. Prices start at UKP1,000 for the Desktop and PC Hexacom, with the Professional coming in at UKP1,300.
