DATA GENERAL WINS TELCO SUPPORT FOR FIBRE RAID SYSTEMS

Data General Corp is celebrating two major order from telecoms companies for its new storage-area-network ready CLARiiON Fibre Channel RAID storage systems. GTE Corp’s GTE Internetworking unit of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and New Zealand’s second largest telecommunications company, Clear Communications, have said they will standardize on CLARiiON’s FC5700s. The value of the two deals was not disclosed.
