Data General Corp announced a series of new products yesterday, expanding its SECURELiiNE of internet security products and launching the first in a series of commerce-enabled Web servers. Web-Server-in-a-Box includes an AViiON AV2100 Pentium Pro based server with Microsoft Corp Windows NT server. The Firewall-in-a- Box is a packaged product from the SECURLiiNE series that includes a B1 level security rating firewall from CyberGuard Corp and Raptor Systems Inc’s Eagle NT, and The Wall family of network security products, together with Data General’s AViiON server, based on Intel Corp’s Pentium Pro Processor technology. Data General says the Firewall-in-a-Box takes the complexity away from implementing security devices and systems. The company also previews a high availability commerce-enabled web server based on Microsoft clustering technology and its own Cluster-in-a-Box technology. The Firewall-in-a-Box starts at $15,500 for a dual processor configuration and is available now, as is the Web- Server-in-a-Box priced at $7,000.
