Data General Co says that sale of Nippon Data General to Omron Corp will yield net cash proceeds of about $30m and a one-time gain of $13m to be taken with its fiscal second or third quarter figures; under Omron’s ownership, the company will continue to market Data General products in Japan and the Westborough, Massachusetts company looks for the deal to open new market opportunities for its products.
