DATA GENERAL HAS DATAGENIE FOR HAZARDOUS LOCATIONS

Data General Corp, more famous for its minicomputers and high-end storage systems, also produces hand held systems for industrial use, and has launched a model of its DataGenie III Series for use in indoor hazardous locations. The DataGenie III/is (‘is’ stands for intrinsically safe) uses a Hitachi SH7032 32-bit RISC processor, 2Mb flash memory and has been cleared for use around highly combustible materials.
