DATA EAST BEGINS MARKETING CELLULAR FACSIMILE MACHINES

Data East Corp has begun marketing cellular facsimile machines and modems with technical support from NTT: the NCU-070 auto answer modem is $512, while the NCU-050 is $276; and Keihin Corp has developed and released a Model K-3284 facsimile for use with cellular phones in cars – it enables documents up to A6 size to be transmitted and the unit comes in two parts, facsimile unit and controller; it will be offered both direct and as an OEM product and end-user prices are under $1,575.
