Storage-as-a-service (STaaS) company Zadara has made its Virtual Private Storage Array solution available to Amazon Web Services (AWS) EU users after joining forces with Irish telecom provider Eircom.
The Zadara Storage VPSA allows Eircom and AWS EU customers to access and use Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) services at hourly rates as well as using Zadara’s STaaS solution.
Zadara said the solution, which is priced at €0.86 per hour, would help organisations cut down on CapEx and OpEx costs for databases, business intelligence and online repositories.
Nelson Nahum, CEO of Zadara Storage, said: "By providing, together with eircom, the clustering, privacy, predictability and control enterprise applications require, AWS customers across Western Europe can move their business applications to the powerful AWS cloud to access its scale and economics along with enterprise storage management and reliability."
The solution also enables IT managers to assemble their storage on line "with a few clicks" while managing their own administration.
Jason O’Conaill, head of cloud and data centres at Eircom, added: "We’re proud to help organisations who leverage the AWS platform to access cost-effective, cloud-based storage without giving up the enterprise class features they are used to having with on-premises storage resources."
Eircom has access into the AWS Cloud directly from its data centre in Dublin.
