Trillium announces data governance services

Help at hand for data quality

By Jason Stamper

Data quality company Trillium Software, a Harte Hanks business, will later today announce a new set of business consulting services aimed at helping organisations plan, implement and maintain their data governance initiatives.

With all the complexity, sheer volume, and constantly-changing nature of today’s business data, large organisations face incredibly difficult challenges in ensuring that their data stays relevant and valuable to all parts of the business – or risk losing money, time and growth opportunities,  said Bernard LeCuyer, senior vice president of global services at Trillium Software.  Unlike other consultants whose expertise is limited to technology, our team takes a time-tested strategic business approach to helping our customers achieve their complex data governance goals.

Through a series of collaborative consulting engagements and what the firm is describing as “a nimble building-block implementation methodology”, Trillium Consulting will claim it can enable companies to design and build a custom-fit programme for governance that effectively delivers business value while sustaining ongoing data governance year-over-year.

Based on their knowledge of customers’ industries and data management needs, Trillium’s consultants will help companies plan a packaged, modular, cost-effective ten-step implementation approach that best fits customer needs; perform detailed value assessments to secure executive buy-in and conduct onsite collaborative engagements and assign roles or responsibilities to create a structure that advocates a small administrative footprint and promotes more effective organisational alignment.

They can also help draw up plans that serve as the foundation for overarching data governance processes and a Centre of Excellence that is scalable and sustainable over the long term, and fine-tune solutions to ensure customers maximise the benefits of data governance and technology.

The consulting news follows news in mid-May of version 12 of the firm’s Trillium Software System, which was said to include enhancements in support of the firm’s vision for enterprise-level Total Data Quality.

Versoin 12 saw the ushering in of ActiveEnterprise Resources – Trillium Software’s latest innovation in global enterprise-ready data quality best practices – said to help accelerate the design, development and deployment of real-time data quality programs across an organization.

Also new are a business rules library and dashboarding and reporting enhancements, as well as global support in the user interface which offers the ability to create language-specific screens as well as help and context-sensitive display.
