Trillium joins the app store brigade

Free data quality apps and rules available online

By Steve Evans

Data quality firm Trillium Software has unveiled an app store-like online business rules and applications library, which offers customers pre-developed information quality rules, processes and full workflows they can download and attach to existing Trillium Software System environments.

The company hopes TrilliumApps will help with the development and deployment of data quality platforms while reducing the risk associated with such projects. It offers, the company claims, certified, reusable business rules and applications. The store itself sorts apps by object type, project type, data domain or vertical industry. Users can also leave ratings and feedback, which Trillium says will help ensure users select the right apps for their business needs.

The library includes business rules and applications – available free of charge – for data governance, customer relationship management, process flows, process steps, risk and compliance and data migration. Any rules or apps that are downloaded can be integrated into existing production or pre-production processes. Clients can also use the downloaded features as a template for their own modifications, which will ensure the content is customisable to an organisation’s needs.

"Companies are under more pressure than ever before to ensure their information quality initiatives can be developed and deployed quickly, with low risk, in order to reap the benefits of optimised business processes," said John Nicoli, managing director, Harte-Hanks Trillium Software. "With TrilliumApps, we hope our customers can accelerate their data quality efforts and limit the amount of development required to get the results they need more rapidly than using home-grown solutions."

"In fact, this approach to aggregating and utilising reusable applications may spark our customers to come up with new ideas for solving their data quality problems," Nicoli added.

"TrilliumApps is an innovative, new way to find and deploy applications and business rules that can help users manage key enterprise processes which rely on accurate information and data to optimise business results," said Nigel Turner, EMEA user group chairman and independent information quality consultant. "Organisations will greatly benefit from having immediate access to many free data quality applications built upon Trillium Software’s years of expertise. It represents a novel approach to data quality that showcases Trillium Software’s ongoing investment and dedication to its customer base."
